ENTEGA "The Garbage Bag"

During the autumn of 2007, most Germans received a letter announcing upcoming price hikes for electricity. Except for customers of the ecological electricity supplier ENTEGA, who have guaranteed prices until 2009. But inevitably, their electricity will also become more expensive. How can ENTEGA customers be convinced of the long-term benefits of sustainable electricity? In this way, the abstract benefit to the environment is suddenly made tangible and the responsibility of each individual becomes more evident. A nice side effect is that the neighbors, who are now upset about having to pay more for their electricity, can be won over for ENTEGA, too. They demonstrate how much less CO2 is emitted into the atmosphere by ENTEGA customers: 80 liters less per hour – the exact volume of a standard German garbage bag which they send along with the letter. 17% more telephone requests with explicit reference to the garbage bag campaign.

Eskom "Mug"

South Africa is currently experiencing an energy shortage wich has resulted in massive rolling blackouts across the country. As a result our national electricity commission "Eskom" has embarked on a country wide initiative to save power. To promote energy saving in the massive business sector, the following mugs were distributed to company canteens nationwide. When filled with hot water the black fades to white revealing a message that reads "With your help, we can achieve it. Please conserve electricity"

EnBW "Earth plug"

EnWB is building the first geothermal power station in Baden-Württernberg, making the company a pioneer in this field. This unsual idea aims at making people aware of EnWB commitment. The concept is simple: Silvery grey traffic bollards were combined with stickers on the ground. This gave the impression of a giant, highly realistic, three-dimensional plugs, wich locked as if they were growing out of the ground.

EnWB "Mailing"

EnBW is sponsor of the FIFA worldcup. As a utilities company EnBW is not strongly connected to the sport and the audience. So the task was to develop a direct mailing for the EnBW clients that makes clear: We are doing it for the fans. The mailing that turns livingrooms into football stadiums: Put the cover over the sofa and watch the games on TV while sitting on the trainer´s bench! This mailing made absolutely clear that the EnBW wants everyone to have fun during the worldcup. And: as part of a integrated campaign it was used to build up a football community centered on the theme of putting the fans into the first row.
