Kangaroo Cabs "Magic Mirror"

To promote the service of a cab company, in bars and clubs. The message they wanted to communicate was have fun but keep in mind the dangers of drunk driving. Making sure that their communication has no impact on liquor sales of the barclub was another challenge. The solution was the "magic mirror" wich hung in rest rooms. It like any ordinary mirror but transformed its image when a person went closer to it. The picture of a person who has met with an accident would appear with the message "take a cab" and the contact number of the cab company.

CitiTowing "You never know"

They want drivers whose cars have broken down to call CitiTowing first. People don't think that breaking down will happen to them, but the simple truth is that anyone can end up having a broken down car. And usually when their car is broken down, they don't know which emergency towing service number to call. They towed mobile billboards behind pickup trucks. Then they parked them on the side of the road in high traffic areas during rush hour. Then they opened the bonnets and with the help of pyrotechnics and smoke bombs, they staged that the pickups had broken down and by doing so convinced drivers that if the vehicles towing the billboards could break down unexpectedly, so could theirs. Do you have the number of an emergency towing service in your phone?

Masa Pest Control "Miniature magazines"

Masa Pest Control is on a mission to educate people on the importance of maintaining a rodent-free environment, and the tool for this is to have the proffesionals do it. The brief was to broaden Masa's customer base and promote their services among foreigners and Arab expatriates living in residential compounds. The concept of sharing space with strangers, more specifically rodents is not appealing at all. To dramatize the fact that rodents live parallel lives to humans, they sent miniature magazines "Hole Décor" and "Rat's Health" adressed to the rats sharing the houses of the audience they want to reach. Inside the magazine a tiny card stated the following: Rats can take over your house before you even know it. Call Masa Pest Control. The idea generated a responce over 20% more calls in the first 2 weeks. Moreover, people were amazed by the idea to the extent that they requested more copies of the mailer for their friends.

American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital "Post-It"

Hair Removal is a painful and messy experience for most people. They needed to communicate that a simpler, less painful and cost effective option was available. They covered their poster with post-its designed like waxing strips, and hair printed on the back that encouraged people to peel them off mimicking the action of waxing. This clearly enticed them to opt for the client's less painful laser hair removal treatment instead. They aimed the communication at young men and women who regularly performed hair removal treatments. An increase in more than 15% in enquiries was recorded at the call centre regarding Laser Hair Removal.

American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital "Bubble Wrap"

For the most people, acne is an embarrassing problem that leaves scars on the face. They needed to communicate that a simpler less painful option to get rid of them was available. Bubble wrap gives people an unnatural urge to pop it. And covering their posters with it reminded their target audience of their battle against acne. Young men and women who suffered from acne and were scarred by it formed their target audience. An increase in more than 15% in enquiries was recorded at the call centre regarding the skin resurfacing treatments.

DHL "Box Inlay"

Inform existing DHL clients about the new improved Asia service, which means sending goods from Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing in a superfast and sharply price way. DHL clients use special DHL boxes for their shipments. Just phoning DHL is enough to get the boxes delivered within a day, totally free of charge and ready to use. It seems to be the ideal moment to communicate the Asia service, because they can reach exactly their target audience, people who already use DHL. The inlay gets visible at the moment clients fill the box with their goods. The ultimate cheap and convincing way to advertise a relevant message. They provided DHL boxes with a very special inlay. The inlay, at the bottom of the box, shows another open box and together they make a long 'tunnel'. At the end of the 'tunnel' there is an Asian person handing over something. In the 'Hong Kong version the Asian person hands over a toy box, in the Shanghai version a laptop and in the Beijing version a shoe. The text says; The fastest way to Hong Kong/Shanghai/Beijing. Take a look at www.dhl.nl to see our sharp prices. Because the boxes are sent to clients who ask for one, chances are that the full 100% of the target audience will see the message. Boxes are already distributed so the only extra investment is the inlay. It is a simple 46x32 cm paper that is put inside the box. Approximately 65.000 boxes are distributed every month by DHL. Halfway August 2008 they started distributing the boxes with the inlays inside and they can see an 3% increase of sales in September 2008. Ofcourse this 3% sales increase is about the specific Asia service and they expect more increase in the future since clients use the Asia service only at the moment they need it, which can be any date from now.

DHL "Track it anywhere"

I post already the DHL Online Tracking 'Van'. Here is an other version of DHL Online Tracking. To generate buzz for the DHL Online Tracking among the business community, a group of couriers were posted around the Beijing’s Central Business District. A white silhouette of a computer cursor were placed on their back as they walk around, quite literally demonstrating the possibility of constant tracking of your DHL parcel!

    DHL "Track it anywhere"

This ‘mobile’ on-ground communication created by Ogilvy Beijing makes use of a large silhouette of a computer cursor installed on a fleet of DHL’s runner vans, which shuttles around the Beijing’s Central Business District to announce DHL’s ‘24-7’ online tracking attribute. This simple stunt/ live activity has effectively resulted in an apparent drop in parcel enquiry recorded by the DHL phone tracking system while online tracking click counters surged.

    DHL "Gridlock"

To demonstrate DHL's inexplicable ability to deliver on time regardless of conditions, this outdoor piece dominated MTR escalators across Hong Kong. The areas either side and between the escalators were covered with giant bird's-eye view of Hong Kong highway jam-packed with stationary traffic. The moving handrails then acted as a fast lane with a steady flow of little yellow DHL vans racing past.

    Deadline Express Couriers "Self destruct"

When Deadline Couriers give you a time, they actually mean it. To demonstrate this they chose to use a single billboard in the middle of the city to make a little noise. On it they placed a digital countdown clock, together with a promise that the billboard would self-destruct at zero hour. And at that exact moment, they blew it up - with nitramine dry powder, strobe grenades and smoke bombs. With a small budget (20,000 Dollar) a billboard was the most appropriate, most cost effective and most powerful medium to bring this idea to life. In addition to capturing 353,000 potential Deadline customers who drove past the site in the week leading up to the explosion, a live streaming webcam of the countdown linked to Deadline's homepage was seen by thousands more. Additionally the explosion was debated on blogs and picked up by the press and national television news. In total the billboard explosion was viewed by over a million people.
