The Orange Babies Foundation wanted to graphically demonstrate an every day horror that's happening in Africa: Beautiful African baby's with HIV are abadoned and left to die in rubbish bins by their own mothers. Simply because the mothers believe they have no hope. For World Aids Day a garbage container styled as a baby's cot was placed in the centre of Dam Square in Amsterdam. You hear a baby crying from inside the container accompanied by a simple lullaby from a music box. Flyers were distributed explaning the work Orange Babies does in saving these babies and indeed bringing hope to young mothers.
